Miranda Lipton is a writer and food systems aficionado. Her work is driven by the desire to build a healthier, more resilient, and community-oriented food system.

As a journalist she's covered stories about consolidation in the meat industry, how biofortification could help replenish nutrients in vegetablesand the cultural context of Mexico's policy fight against US-grown genetically modified corn.

She's also covered how seaweed consumption can reduce methane emissions in cattle, and the unusual ways that black soldier flies are transforming the organic waste industry.

Based in NYC, Miranda also aims to create more opportunities for people to source high quality food and be connected to its origins in ways that city-living at times makes difficult.

Her latest project, Your Seat at the Table, is a bi-weekly dinner series that encourages group discussion around these topics, as well as locally and ethically sourced produce turned home-cooked meals for all to share. During the school year, she works as a culinary educator at public schools across NYC teaching healthy cooking practices.

She is also a 2025 John's Hopkins Food and Public Health Fellow.

I (I mean she), look forward to connecting! :)
